2008/09/03 CSEP meeting

Attendees: Jeremy Z., Danijel S., John Y., Masha L.

1. Alarm-based Java code from Jeremy:
   • Masha automated ROC and MASS tests within CSEP
   • Fabian sent plotting function for new tests, needs to be integrated within CSEP
   • Jeremy posted reference data for 8 acceptance tests on motion, Masha will add tests to CSEP build
   • Jeremy posted re-engineered MASS test that uses less memory
   • Jeremy reported that tests will break for currently installed TripleS model for Wester Pacific regions
     
     1. Would need to re-generate forecast or Jeremy will look into Java code to see if can get test to work with current forecast format file
   • Forecasts for:
     
     1. 1-yr rate forecast and an alarm-based forecast for the California natural lab
     2. Alarm-based forecasts for the NW and SW Pacific natural labs
2. Double Branching one-year model from Anna Maria for Western Pacific testing regions:
   • Anna Maria is working on tracing the source of the problem for SW Pacific forecasts with 10000 simulations
     
     1. John created an account on csep-cert for Anna Maria
3. Danijel will work on Trac ticket #99: displaying log10(rates) for forecasts maps
4. SCEC 2008 Annual Meeting:
   • Danijel will have a few slides on CSEP in RFP discussion
   • CSEP results poster from Jeremy
   • CSEP roadmap poster from Masha
5. Code freeze for CSEP Version 8.10 is scheduled for September 15, 2008
6. Hardware:
   • John will work on script for archival of csep-op data so first quarter of data can be removed with installation of the new release
   • Masha will file a Trac ticket to create sub-directories for dispatcher runtime directories and log files (not to have too many entries under the same directory)
