2008/04/30 CSEP meeting

Attendees: Danijel, Jeremy, Masha

1. Introducing Western Pacific testing region into the CSEP:
   • Jeremy will identify the rules for Western Pacific testing region
   • Yan is out of town April 28 - May 8

   • Masha changed existing catalog PostProcess classes to make it data source dependable (ANSS, CMT):

     1. Since input catalog is shared by all models within forecast group, need to have generic filtering to be applied within that class.
        Currently, for all installed models within CSEP input ANSS catalog preparation consists of:

        • Cut to magnitude
        • Cut to collection area
        • Cut to time period
   • Created placeholders for CMT catalog filtering routines - have to implement them
   • Danijel invited Warner from Italy to install his model into SCEC Testing Center to compete with David/Yan's model
2. Software development:

   • Masha tagged repository with Version_8_4_28 that includes fixes for identified problems in V8.4 and some of the latest development:

     1. Trac ticket #86: Delete old result files on publishing web-site if evaluation test is re-run for the test date
     2. Trac ticket #79: Forecasts maps don't display events with magnitude values less than 5.0

     3. Trac ticket #80: Switch from Python ElementTree package used for XML parsing to cElementTree

     4. Trac ticket #81: list->set->list conversion for the list of forecasts files causes two sets of cumulative files for R-test

     5. Trac ticket #82: Cumulative R-test plot is missing on the results web-page

     6. Trac ticket #78: Introduce BatchProcessing module to reprocess test dates

     7. Trac ticket #49: Look at possibility of making dispatcher runs completely independent
   • Build of the tagged version succeeded on csep-cert
   • Processing all forecasts groups on csep-cert with nightly crontab jobs and manually re-processing some dates
   • Will push new release to operational machine on Monday, May 5
