Minutes from 28 January 2009
2009/01/28 CSEP meeting
Attendees: Phil M., Danijel S., Jeremy Z., John Y., Masha L.
- CSEP V9.1.1 release status:
-
Release candidate has been tested for a week on csep-cert
-
Masha copied release candidate (csep/tags/Version_pre9_1_1_01_20) to official release in the repository csep/tags/Version_9_1_1
-
Checked out the release code on csep-op, started the build
-
To be installed on csep-op Thursday, January 29, 2009
-
-
- Masha will write a document with requirements for model submission to the testing center, and will circulate within the group
- Matt and Masha upgrading New Zealand testing center to V9.1.0
- Fabian sent tar ball with Japanese testing center codes
- Masha will submit to SVN
- Phil asked about stability of the CSEP builds when we add testing center specific codes:
- CSEP builds and testing framework are not affected since testing centers codes are isolated to separate directories
- John run hardware diagnostic tests on csep-cert - all passed, and upgraded the bios
-
Masha run CSEP build on csep-devel - took 9 hours vs. 11 hours for the build on csep-cert
-
Dispatcher for one-day forecast group took 2.5 hours on csep-devel vs. 3 hours on csep-cert
- csep-devel hardware seems to be a good candidate for upgrading certification and operational servers to
-
-
csep-op is running out of disk space
- John will work on it
- John will upgrade existing 30Tb storage for use by CSEP operational server
- Tasks for V9.4 release:
-
RELM S (space) and M (magnitude) evaluation tests:
- Jeremy asked to add only to RELM 5-year forecasts groups
- Staging of existing raw catalog data to be used by re-processing - work in progress
- New web representation of test results:
- Danijel suggested to create plots for all results on the web-server site
- Acceptance tests for web viewing code
- Will need to publish already existing test results in XML format, but extra care must be taken in posting re-processed test dates - only latest results should be posted
- Modular functionality of the CSEP Toolkit:
- Most of the modules can be invoked in standalone mode
- There is a lack of documentation on how to invoke modules:
- Use Doxygen?
- CSEP distribution and dependent packages to other testing centers
- Phil suggested to have a design meeting to discuss implementation
- New models for Global testing region from Yan, Danijel:
-
Yan has global forecast models using CMT catalog (M>=5.8) and PDE catalog (M>=5.0)
- Danijel suggested to install CMT version of the model
- Masha will send email to Yan with model requirements for the submission
-
- Re-processing due to Trac ticket fixes:
- #110: RELM Mainshock forecasts groups should use declustered catalog for evaluation tests
- #128: N-test delta should be computed as poisscdf(N, lambda)
- #114: Cutting catalog to geographical region eliminates valid events if their longitude or latitude values fall on the area cell borders
- Should stage existing raw catalog, re-create observation catalog, and time-dependent forecasts
- #113: ANSS events with missing depth value have their time set to 00:00:00 by Matlab import routine
- #121: r-test results flipped
- OS upgrade to Fedora 10
-
