Minutes from 22 September 2009
2009/09/22 CSEP Meeting
Attendees: Phil M., Danijel S., David R., Max W., Kazu N., Fabian E., John Y., Masha L.
- csep-op:
- V9.10.0 release:
- Need to upgrade SciPy (V0.7.0) and NumPy (V1.3.0) packages
- V9.7.0 release:
- Re-processing of California's one-day and RELM forecasts groups due to the ANSS catalog fixes
- Matlab license server crashed for test date of 2009-08-20 (re-processed)
- NFS server crashed for test date of 2009-08-21 (re-processed)
- Only three-month models remain to be reprocessed
- Re-processing of California's one-day and RELM forecasts groups due to the ANSS catalog fixes
- V9.10.0 release:
- CSEP meeting at USC on September 24-25, 2009
- Tran sent out agenda
- Proposal discussion for the Testing Center results web viewer
- Phil will give a short presentation on evaluation of synthetic seismographs
- Software development:
- Max reported that independent implementation of evaluation tests that use simulations (L, M, S and R tests) are within 1-2% difference from results with CSEP implementation
- Could be due to the statistical variance
- Danijel suggested to use the same random numbers as CSEP using to generate results with 1000 simulations to see if results match
- Danijel suggested to file a Trac ticket #180: Stabilize evaluation tests that use simulations by increasing number of simulations
- V9.10 release candidate is running on csep-cert since 2009/09/18
- Phil asked what are the new features in V9.10.0:
- Python implementation of the RELM evaluation tests
- Two quantile scores vs. one for N-test
- GenericCSEP distribution for scientists
- Math symbols are displayed in tests results plots
- Precision fix for CMT scalar moment magnitude value
- Four new alarm-based models from Alvaro Gonzalez:
- Two one-day models
- One three-month model
- One five-year model
- Max reported that independent implementation of evaluation tests that use simulations (L, M, S and R tests) are within 1-2% difference from results with CSEP implementation
- Hardware:
- John confirmed that NFS server to be replaced for V9.10.0 release
- csep-cert
- CSEPWebTest.py is not part of nightly build - some issues connecting to the web server
- John is looking at the problem, but most likely won't make it into V9.10.0
- Masha suggested to invoke the tests manually once V9.10 is installed on csep-op
- CSEPWebTest.py is not part of nightly build - some issues connecting to the web server
